Center Vision & Mission
Vision
To create a membrane-based downstream purification platform for the future large scale biomanufacturing of viral vectors and virus-like particles (VLPs) for gene therapy and vaccine applications to replace the current processes such as centrifugation and resin-based chromatography that are difficult to scale up.
Mission
Catalyze the future continuous biomanufacturing by creating a membrane purification platform for the production of virus particle-based therapeutics via multi-disciplinary collaboration among three EPSCoR jurisdictions and improve the infrastructure of these states.
Develop future biomanufacturing workforce by providing unique training opportunities for our junior faculty members, graduate, and undergraduate researchers.
Promote diversity, inclusion and equity by involving women and minority faculty and student researchers.
